Karen2So, would I recommend working one-on-one with a sewing teacher? Based on my experience with Beth, I’d say a resounding YES! But I think Beth and I were lucky. I brought to the US an open mind, a relaxed attitude and a willingness to learn. Beth hosted with consummate expertise, a gently guiding hand and flexibility. I think she had an excellent eye for when to push me and when to draw back. ‘Are you getting tired?’ she’d sometimes ask of an afternoon, just as I could feel my brain starting to shut down. You can’t put a price on emotional intelligence like that. The whole week was a lovely meeting of minds and hearts.

While I was in San Francisco visiting family I spent a most enjoyable and very full afternoon in a sewing lesson with Beth. I came in as a lapsed sewist wanting a jumpstart on my re-entry into sewing for myself. Beth totally tailored the afternoon to my request and I came away with not only a pattern fitted to my measurements and an understanding of how to make adjustments, but also a complete packet of information and samples plus a head full of ideas and inspiration. Beth’s teaching is clear, concise, and focused. I have to say that my experience was just as described on her website. I am looking forward to my next trip to San Francisco which will absolutely include another lesson with Beth to propel me to the next level.
